Labor Day Weekend Recap

We were busy this past weekend. Let's count the ways.

  1. Our coffee hour hit an all-time high in attendance and has us considering new locations.
  2. We flew a banner that read "Grab 'em by the Epstein Files. Go Blue!" over the largest gathering in America ahead of the kick-off between Michigan and New Mexico. This was a collaborative project between our friends with A2D2 Indivisible and Downriver United 734. "Air Indivisible" has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
  3. Our Labor Day, 'United We Stand', protest was a massive success!
  4. Oh, and WEMU ran a story about our Labor Day event and interviewed Ben.

We thought we would share some of the feedback that was gathered after the protest on Monday:

Great turnout. Lots of petitions to sign. Well-organized.
I enjoy the wide variety of messages on the signs.
People can be so creative.
It's important to outwardly show displeasure with our government
Great feeling of camaraderie!!
It was such a lovely, reassuring, passionate crowd of people who love Democracy! We're just getting started!

That last comment is so true. We are just getting started. Together, we will put a stop to this regime's actions.

This past weekend, Saline was a destination for those in our neighboring areas. While many groups traveled to Detroit in support of the parade (Good job, everyone!), Saline Indivisible guarded the fort and provided a nearer option. We are grateful for the visitors and are glad you enjoyed your time in our beautiful town. Here is some feedback that our neighbors provided:

Visibility in these area events is very important and hopefully encourages others to participate. The event was so well organized, and I found everyone friendly. This is my first time attending an event in Saline. Thank you.
We came from Ann Arbor. Wonderful protest event, tons of people, high energy, great signs. Thank you!
Robust turnout. People there from multiple counties, including Lenawee, Monroe, Hillsdale, Wayne, St Clair, Macomb, and of course Washtenaw.

Thank you! Y'all come back anytime :)

The protests play an important role but are only part of the strategy. If you have attended a protest, the next step is to attend a meeting or coffee hour.

Our thanks to everyone who participated this past weekend!
